About the Artist:

Johnny Gardner was born a field biologist.  He grew up in fields, gardens and wild places, landing his first job as an apprentice at age twelve with San Diego Counties first certified organic gardener Emil Sejkora . During his tenure with Mr. Sejkora, Johnny was instructed in planting, nurturing, harvesting and cooking nearly every kind of fruit and vegetable growable in Southern California; also learning eclectic skills such as skinning, tanning, beekeeping and animal husbandry.

His education was furthered at Grossmont Cuyamaca Colleges taking a myriad of biological, botanical and industrial arts classes before graduating from Cuyamaca College. He currently resides in Ramona, California where he gardens, practices many arts and raises natural chickens and eggs.
